Change in the face of the city has to  do with the outdoors, surrounding space of new and existing refurbished buildings, as well as their interiors to the degree their aesthetic style apart from being projected to the street through openings and lobbies, is clearly reflected on the nature and qualities of their visitors.

This is the case for both city hotels and resorts in close proximity, which are favoured by a large number of visitors for conference tourism or for holidays that combine visits to the city, its museums and its monuments.

There is a new international trend lately that involves the notion of the hotel itself as a tourist attraction. The building and its interior become a destination because of the facilities and services they offer, or –and this is what we are mainly talking about- because of their particular design.

In order for this to happen we need to have a strong concept, something that is crucial to the hotel function and operation as well as the design and must always be devised in close collaboration with the Hoteliers or the selected brand. The design proposal even when limited to the interiors can’t be performed with ‘decorative’ criteria but need to be based on the specific ‘genius loci’, the sense of space of every site and building. This way we may create spaces with a strong after image, that create the desire to return again and again to, seeking the feeling of familiarity that every successful hotel unit should provide.
